Car loan: what alternative fuel for your car?

According to many energy research experts, the decline in global oil production is imminent. More than ever, the search for alternative fuels, therefore, appears to be a priority for manufacturers… but also for road users! Rest assured: several solutions have already emerged to offset this revolution.

LPG, the gas car

LPG, the gas car

Acronym for Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG is growing at a slower rate than that of our European neighbors, but is constant, and remains the leader in alternative fuels. Its strength: being one of the least polluting mass fuels (it essentially rejects water).

A traditional vehicle can be transformed into an LPG vehicle by simply adding a compatible tank and a compatible injection system, for an average of $ 2,000 at a garage. An amount to seriously consider in your car loan when buying a new vehicle!

Electricity, the energy of tomorrow

Like LPG, electric or hybrid cars are on the rise. Boosted by a bonus with the purchase of $ 1,000 offered by the State, electric cars have zero carbon emissions for it, and undeniable practicality with recharging from the home sector.

If autonomy remains a point of debate for public opinion, the all-electric is acclaimed by manufacturers today.

CNG, the other clean gas

Very similar to LPG, CNG (for Natural Gas for Vehicles) is also less noisy and releases even less CO2. However, its releases of methane and significant harmful particles would have a major impact on the ozone layer by 2040 if it were massively used today. This clean gas is therefore only considered today as a complementary solution to electric vehicles.

Agrofuels

Still extremely rare on the roads, vehicles running on biofuels – or biofuels – nevertheless have all the attractions of renewable energy. They use a choice of oils (palm, sunflower, or rapeseed) or alcohols from the fermentation of different agricultural products such as corn or beet.

Other solutions are also being studied to overcome the inevitable disappearance of diesel. GTLs (made from natural gas) notably offer very good results from an environmental point of view, but their production cost is still very high. More surprisingly, coal (CTL energy) is also one of the tracks envisaged for the major players in its production (China, India), provided that a solution is found to eliminate its CO2 emissions.
